Dr. L.R. Dinkins - Director

Greetings,

This marks my twenty-third year in education and my eighteenth year serving the Jasper County School District. For seven years, I taught at Jasper High and Ridgeland High. In the last ten years I have served as, Assistant Principal and Principal of Hardeeville Ridgeland Middles school. As well as Assistant Principal of Ridgeland Hardeeville High School, Director and Assistant Director of our District’s Alternative School, JCAP. Currently I serve as the Assistant Alternative School Director, District Behavior Interventions Liaison and District Truancy Officer.

I Graduated from S.C. State University in 1995 with Bachelor of Science in History. I earned a Master’s in Education from Cambridge College in 2001. In 2009 I earned a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2010 from Argosy University.

I am Married to Elizabeth M. Dinkins and we have three children, Camaerin (Freshman in College), Kendell (10th grade) and Kennedy (6th grade). Besides my personal children, my heart is flooded with joy when I talk to former students and they have their own families that they are now raising.

I have been blessed to serve as an administrator to the children of students that I have taught. What is really worth more than any salary can give, is when students come to you and thank you for tough love and not allowing them to settle for anything. I often hear my students say, “do you remember when you said or did this.”

When I stop and realize the time that I have been a part of the Jasper County School District, I count it as a wonderful blessing. It is a joy to know that you have positively influenced so many lives in one place in spite of the many challenges that we face. I am constantly reminded of one of my beliefs, that is, “No organization will ever live up to its potential until those who are a part of the organization believe in what they are doing.” I look forward to continuing to serve.
